i have allways worked and my children know that the week-end is for the family SUNDAYS are family day church dinner BKE a cake even if your not the best baker .Both my girls ar great jomemakers and my son love to eat they are all over 40 years old and now i work casrmangement after 40 years as hairdresser i can assist familys to be familys you are RIGTH on the nose about family time be week-end or family nite (tv,game,walking ,looking at the stars ect) Rita

@Ginger – I feel the main reason there’s not enough time is because we don’t take enough initiative to find time. Go through all the activities you need to do on the weekend and try to eliminate those which are not important so that you have some time for your children.

I spend most of my time with my kids,I’m a work at home mom.We enjoy the times in between my appointments,we swim, walk, ride bikes and shop.What I would really enjoy is reading the book I ordered from you on July 11th/2009 .I have received plenty of e-mails (17) now that I have been added to your list and still haven’t received my book yet.I’m am anxiously awaiting to start reading and try to learn some of your methods to make the not so pleasant time spent together more bearable.

I completely agree. Planning ahead is essential to a great day. I have three small children (5 years, 3 years, and 8 months) and each one absolutely enjoys one-on-one time with both their Mommy and Daddy. While not always possible, I was able to take the two younger ones to the backyard to swing while my husband did some yardwork with our oldest son out front. My son told his Daddy that “this was his best day ever” because he got to do four things all by himself with his Dad. We are heading to a local beach as a family tomorrow. Can’t wait! P.S. We had a blast in the backyard swinging “to reach the clouds” as my daughter says.

Sounds good to me, I do try to spend some time with my 3 yo son on the weekends but probably not enough time. Ginger
